My name is Gloria Darnell, in 1987 I started my teaching career and married my high school sweetheart, Gene Darnell. We have 3 adult young men that graduated from VAHS; and in January of 2021 we had our first grandson. I love teaching, reading, baking, spending time with family and friends.

Did you know that our brains are hardwired to learn how to speak, but not so for learning to read and write? So, truly watching a child learn to read and write is quite magical and inspiring. I look forward to supporting and assisting students unlock the magic this year! I love being a Partin Panther and working on a campus filled with dedicated teachers/staff and supportive parents.
