Dear Parents and Families,
I am truly humbled and honored to have been appointed to serve the students, parents and staff members of Van Alstyne Independent School District as the Elementary Principal. I would like to thank you for sharing your children with us at VAES. During my first weeks with the district I have been welcomed with open arms by all staff members. I look forward to working with the highly qualified and dedicated staff members to provide the best possible educational programs for our children.
Prior to coming to Van Alstyne ISD to serve as Elementary Principal, I served as an Elementary Principal in Phoenix for the Paradise Valley Unified School District and Glendale Elementary District for the past 8 years. As well, I served as a High School Assistant Principal for 3 years in the Peoria Unified School District in Phoenix. Prior to my administrative experience I taught Reading and English for 19 years. I am passionate about education and kids and know that we, (the staff, parents, and community members) can work together to provide a rich educational experience that will continue to make our school even better than it already is. I am very excited to give back to the children and the community and to continue to build on the traditions of a Premier School.
Again, It is truly an honor to serve the children, families and staff members of Van Alstyne. I am very excited and will embrace the opportunity to join such a dynamic and highly qualified team that will continue to work hard to meet the needs of all learners. I look forward to an awesome school year.
I began working as Assistant Principal at Van Alstyne Elementary School during the 2015-2016 school year. As I start my second year as a lead learner and proud Panther, I am excited to build deeper relationships with our students, staff and the entire Van Alstyne community. I know that our amazing teachers have been working hard, and I can’t wait to see all of the innovative learning opportunities they have planned for our Panthers.
I chose education as a career because I want to make a difference. I know that I cannot be successful unless our students are successful. I take every opportunity I have to learn and grow in my profession so that I am able to provide the most enriching educational experience for every child at our school.
When I’m not at school, I spend my free time with my family. My daughter, Kylie, will be in the third grade this year and loves to play soccer. My son, Jake, is a baseball player and will finally be a proud Panther as he begins Kindergarten this year.
